Accessible Dorking

There are car park spaces for disabled badge holders in all main car parks and there are also some designated on street spaces.

There is a disabled w.c. operated by a RADAR key in St. Martin's Walk in the town centre.

Many of the shops are level entry with assisted or automatic opening doors. There is an annual award for accessible premises, which over the last few years has been won by Boots the Chemist, Puccino's Restaurant, Superdrug, Waitrose, Clark's Shoes, The Body Shop, and the HSBC Bank.

Dorking is an interesting old Market town with many listed buildings, and this can mean that access for people with a disability is not easy. However, the Chamber of Commerce, local traders, Town Centre Management and Mole Valley Access Group work very hard to ensure that not only are as many shops and business premises as possible accessible, but that staff training also takes into account the varying requirements of disabled people.
