Antique Auction Houses
With so many antique dealers trading from West Street, there is a constant demand for new and interesting stock. Fortunately, on their doorstep are two excellent auction houses, P.F. Windibank and Crows, both located adjacent to the Dorking Halls and its spacious car park.
Crows, established in 1886, used to auction livestock in the old Market Square, now St. Martin's Walk, but now restricts itself to general sales of furniture etc. and a once monthly antiques and collectables sale. Since the retirement of Jane Crow, it has been run by Hilary Farquhar, a recognised authority on Staffordshire pottery.
P F Windibank, founded in 1946 by Peter Windibank, is now run by his son Simon and specialises in antiques and fine art through its auctions around every six weeks.
