Town Attractions

A visit to Dorking offers a relaxed and varied experience. The town heritage trail is a wonderful introduction to the people and places that give the area its sense of place. It is also a quick guide to the places you will want to return to, whether this is to shop, to explore the antiques trade in West Street or to visit particular places of interest such as the museum, the caves, or the parish church.

Dorking is a town that rewards those who want to scratch the surface of the buildings and streets and to find out something about the history and heritage of the place, with frequent stops to enjoy the hospitality of cafes, restaurants and pubs.

The Visitor Information Centre (telephone 01309 879327) in the Dorking Halls contains much of the information necessary to make your visit an interesting and enjoyable one. Staff are there to help and make suggestions to make you stay a memorable one. Parking is conveniently located adjacent to the Dorking Halls at the east end of High Street.
