Family Fun

Bring the children to Dorking for a day with a difference.  You can all have lots of fun without spending a fortune.  Why not start by exploring the streets of the town together. Print off a copy or collect the Hertiage Trail brochure from the offices of Mole Valley District Council.

Whilst discovering Dorking’s hidden corners, you might like to buy a delicious picnic lunch.  There are lots of places to enjoy your picnic.  You could sit by the pond at the Meadowbank Recreation Ground, where you can also feed the ducks, or you could walk to the woods of The Nower.  If your visit is at a weekend between April and October, you could take the Surrey Hills Explorer bus to the foot of Box Hill or Polesden Lacey.

At Box Hill, you could try flying a kite from the grassy slopes, or spend the afternoon exploring the woods.  If you go to Polesden Lacey, there are beautiful grounds to discover, and a Quiz for the children to puzzle over whilst you enjoy looking around the House.

Alternatively, you might like to drive to Bocketts Farm where there are animals to feed, toy tractors to ride, and a giant slide to whizz down.
