Attractions

Within a few miles of Dorking there is a range of top quality attractions to provide interest and enjoyment for all the family. Chessington World of Adventures is one of the best theme parks in the country. Bocketts Farm, on the edge of Norbury Park, is a working farm that provides opportunities for visitors to see animals and to enjoy the hospitality of James and Jane Gowing.

Wisley Gardens is the home of the Royal Horticultural Society and its spectacular gardens are justifiably world famous. For a different garden experience, the sculpture garden of Hannah Peschar is a very special place where art and nature combine to create a garden of particular beauty.

Towns and villages offer a chance to ramble amongst the shops and the buildings that are characteristic of this part of England, or take refreshment in a pub or cafe. Leatherhead, at the head of the Mole Gap, is one suggestion for a day or half day visit. Between Leatherhead and Dorking is Denbies Wine Estate, a special experience whether or not you are a wine drinker.

History has bequeathed a wealth of ancient and quirky buildings. The windmill at Lowfield Heath is one such example that can be visited.

"We're from the Orkney Ilse, the difference we notice is that we don't have to get on a boat if we want to go out for the evening."
