The Thames Link
A true Town to Country walk! The Thames Link trail runs from Kingston Bridge and the Thames Path to Westhumble and the North Downs Way and like so many of the trails in this area it is surrounded by heritage and history.
A short walk from Kingston upon Thames you will discover hidden meadows, medieval bridges and the Coronation Stone for Saxon Kings, as well as the sites of several medieval farms before reaching quieter countryside.
A series of green country parks and commons including Ashstead Common National Nature Reserve, which is full of ancient Oak pollards and Ashstead Park, supports much wildlife with its two targe pouds. Soon after these you will be following in the footsteps of the Romans as you walk along Stane Street - the roman road from London to Chichester - over the M25 and on to Dorking!
Closer to Dorking is Juniper Hall, a retreat for French aristocrats during the French revolution and Box Hill made famous by Jane Austen in 'Emma' before finally reaching your destination.
