A visit to the market town of Dorking and to the surrounding Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a special experience with a wealth of things to do and see.
Following the success of the London 2012 Olympic Games Road Cycle Road Race, Dorking and Mole Valley welcome the Tour of Britain on Sunday 16th September 2012. The tour comes from Reigate through Leigh and Brockham, reaching Dorking at around 12.30 for the first Sprint of Stage 8. The race comes back into Mole Valley at around 1.50, through Abinger Common, up Leith Hill for a King of the Mountains element and through Ockley for another sprint section before finishing in Guildford at about 3.45.
